Grants to Rhode Island nonprofit organizations for a broad range of animal welfare programs and initiatives. Funding is intended to support programs and projects that provide for the shelter, care, and maintenance of animals; offer education related to the humane treatment of animals; and relate to animal welfare in general. The Foundation will consider capital projects.
The Program for Animal Welfare funds organizations in Rhode Island or that serve Rhode Island working to promote and/or provide humane treatment of animals. The program also supports organizations working more generally on the welfare of animals. Lead organizations must submit their IRS 501 (c) tax determination letter.
Individuals are not eligible to receive grants.
Pre-Application Information
Grants are awarded annually. The next application deadline is June 8, 2023.
Funding requests should be for activities that will commence in late September 2023 or later, as notification to applicants will occur in mid-September.
