Grant of up to $8,000 to a USA, Canada, or International early-career researcher or graduate student for psychological research. Funding is intended to support the exploration of anxiety and anxiety-related disorders. Eligible uses of funds are for basic and clinical research and for direct administrative costs of the proposed project. Applicants must be affiliated with nonprofit charitable, educational, and scientific institutions, or governmental entities operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a graduate student or early career researcher (no more than 10 years postdoctoral)
- Be affiliated with nonprofit charitable, educational, and scientific institutions, or governmental entities operating exclusively for charitable and educational purposes
- Have a demonstrated knowledge of anxiety and anxiety research, either basic or clinical
- Have demonstrated competence and capacity to execute the proposed work
International applicants from countries that have diplomatic relations with the United States and who meet the other eligibility requirements may apply for APF funding.
Ineligible
APF does not allow institutional indirect costs or overhead costs.
Pre-Application Information
The deadline to apply is September 15, 2023.
IRB approval must be received from the host institution before funding can be awarded if human participants are involved.
APF tries to announce grant recipients approximately two to three months after a grant deadline, though the exact time may take shorter or longer depending on the number of applications received.
Researchers can win multiple awards for different projects. Each individual project, however, can only win once.
