Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $5,000 and in-kind grants to USA nonprofit organizations, public-funded service agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations in eligible locations to support children's health and wellness. Funding is intended to encourage the participation of children and youth in the areas of the arts, education, nutrition, socializing, and physical activity. Support ranges from monetary donations to ALDI gift cards. Eligible applicants are local organizations in ALDI communities where ALDI has stores, warehouses, offices, and conducts business.

Through ALDI Smart Kids, ALDI partners with organizations that make a positive impact on kids' health and well-being, food insecurity and diversity, equity and inclusion programs. 

Programs should demonstrate affordability and sustainability, a lasting impact on the community and a significant and measurable outcome.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Applicants may request either cash or ALDI gift cards. ALDI approves requests for gift cards or donations ranging in value from $100 to $5,000.

Term of Contract:

All support is valid for one year only and must be requested annually.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

ALDI only supports 501(c)(3) organizations as well as k-12 public and private schools and churches that serve the community.

Organizations must qualify as one of the following:
- 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
- Public funded service agency, such as police or fire.
- Public or private K-12 school.
- Faith-based organizations that benefit children in the community.

ALDI does not support:
- Individuals or families. We will not consider donation requests from individuals or families, i.e. for personal assistance, scholarships, stipends, grants, athletic sponsorships or other forms of individual or family support.
- Political candidates, campaigns or organizations.
- Religious activities, in whole or in part, for the purpose of furthering religious doctrine. Faith-based organizations must provide services to all community members regardless of denomination.
- Research grants.
- Individual, collegiate, Greek organizations or fraternity-sorority-related events or fundraisers.
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation or disability.
- Organizations must maintain sufficient records of their financial and business activities, which comply with U.S. laws and standards, and they must disclose records from the previous reporting year to ALDI upon request.

Organizations receiving contributions must be in compliance with the requirements of the Equal Opportunities Act, Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and other federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Pre-Application Information:

ALDI accepts applications between February 1st – December 15th each year. Requests should be submitted at least six weeks prior to the date the requested donation is needed to allow time for application review and payment processing.
