Grant to a USA nonprofit or for-profit organization, agency, IHE, or Native American Tribal entity to improve services for individuals with disabilities. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several days to complete. Funding is intended for the process of optimizing the knowledge translation outcomes of the ADA National Network, by funding an ADA KT Center.

The purpose of NIDILRR’s DRRPs, which are funded through the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects and Centers Program, is to improve the effectiveness of services authorized under the Rehabilitation Act by developing methods, procedures, and rehabilitation technologies that advance a wide range of independent living and employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, especially individuals with the most significant disabilities.

Under this particular opportunity, a DRRP must conduct knowledge translation and related activities in collaboration with the ADA National Network’s grantees. Specifically, among other requirements to be described in the funding opportunity announcement, the ADA KT Center must coordinate and support KT activities of the ADA National Network, conduct research aimed at improving knowledge translation on the ADA, manage and maintain the Outcome Measurement System (OMS) database, and organize and support an ADA research conference.

The ADA KT Center must be designed to contribute to the following outcomes:

  • Optimal efficiency and impact of the ADA National Network's outreach, training, technical assistance, information dissemination, and capacity building activities.
  • Increased awareness and use of ADA-related research findings and ADA-related information by appropriate ADA stakeholder groups.
  • Improved understanding of ADA stakeholders' need for and receipt of ADA Network Services over time, including identifying emerging issues related to compliance with ADA requirements.
