Grant Description
Grants to Rhode Island nonprofit organizations and agencies for capital projects that address facilities and equipment needs. Funding is intended to purchase equipment, property, and real estate, as well as for construction and renovations. Grants are also awarded on a very limited basis for the reduction of indebtedness exclusively related to building acquisition, construction, and/or building improvements.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
The foundation supports nonprofit organizations and agencies serving Rhode Island.

Please note that Houses of Worship and Traditional Public Schools must apply in Cycle Two.

Please note that The Champlin Foundation prefers to focus support on those organizations that have been in operation for 3-years or more.

Champlin grants are not used for programming or general operations.

Pre-Application Information
The Champlin Foundation now has three separate application timelines: Two cycles for traditional Capital Requests and one for Campership Requests.

Capital Requests - Cycle One:
The online portal for capital grant applications opens at 12:00 am on December 15th and closes at 11:59 pm on January 15th. Application reviews begin after submission and continue throughout the winter and spring. The Distribution Committee will meet in late May to make their final decisions on funding requests. You will receive notice at the beginning of June and grant awards will be distributed by mid-June to those receiving support.

Capital Requests - Cycle Two:
The online portal for capital grant applications opens at 12:00 am on June 1st and closes at 11:59 pm on July 1st. Application reviews begin after submission and continue throughout the summer and fall. The Distribution Committee will meet in mid-November to make their final decisions on funding requests. You will receive notice by the end of November and grant awards will be distributed by mid-December to those receiving support.
