Grants to Rhode Island nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for charitable activities that benefit local communities. Funding is intended to support programs and projects that improve the quality of life for local residents, and preserve the history of the City of Newport and Aquidneck Island.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications must include verification of the organization’s status under §501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and status under §509 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Pre-Application Information:

The Trustees usually meet two times a year, on the third Saturday in May and the first Saturday in October. Formal proposals must be received by the Trust office by the last day of February to be considered at the May meeting and by July 31st to be considered at the October meeting.

Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, the May 2020 meeting has been rescheduled to October 2, 2020. New proposals received by July 31st will also be considered at the October 2nd meeting.
