Award to a USA, Canada, or International physician to recognize achievements in lupus research. The award is granted to an Assistant or Associate Professor who is conducting original academic or clinical research in basic science, translation, or clinical care in the field of lupus.

The winner will receive a personal award in the amount of $5,000 USD. He or she will also be honored during the Lupus Foundation of America’s Evelyn V. Hess Awards Reception at the 2019 American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, and will have the opportunity to give a brief acceptance speech.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates for this prize must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a licensed physician.
- Must be nominated by a peer.
- Must be 10 or fewer years out from the first full-time faculty appointment or equivalent, in an academic or clinical research setting, and have a current designation as either an Assistant or Associate Professor.
- Must be an independent investigator conducting original research in basic science, clinical care or translation in the field of lupus.

The nomination period is now open. Please submit your nomination online by August 16th, 2019 at 5:00 PM EST.

The awardee is required to attend the Lupus Foundation of America’s Evelyn V. Hess Awards Reception at the 2019 American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Posthumous nominations will not be considered.
