Grant Description
Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International cybersecurity startups to participate in an accelerator program in Texas. Selected startups will receive 12 weeks of programming, mentorship, and networking opportunities, as well as financial support and perks and deals from a wide range of vendors. Awardees are expected to relocate to San Antonio for the duration of the program.

The gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator offers a cutting-edge program in San Antonio, home to the second-largest concentration of cybersecurity experts in the United States. The gener8tor Cybersecurity Accelerator is housed within its partner company Geekdom, San Antonio’s premier collaborative startup community located in the heart of the downtown tech district, and gives startups the opportunity to gain traction for rapid growth in the dynamic tech ecosystem of the Alamo City. 

Program benefits:

  • Office space provided by Geekdom, a collaborative coworking space and community located in the heart of the tech district in downtown San Antonio, Texas
  • Twelve weeks of individualized coaching and mentorship from the gener8tor team during bi-weekly, one-on-one meetings
  • One-on-one meetings with 100+ connections, including serial entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors
  • Weekly cohort programming featuring topics including understanding market size, choosing a revenue model, and how to pitch investors
  • Exclusive Premiere Night reception during which participating companies have the opportunity to pitch to an audience of entrepreneurs, mentors, investors and community members
  • Opportunity to build relationships within the cohort of five companies, and the community of gener8tor alumni
  • Deals and perks from vendors


Additional Eligibility Criteria
gener8tor is a nationally ranked accelerator that invests in high-growth startups.

Applications are welcome from startups headquartered anywhere in the world.

- All cybersecurity startups are encouraged to apply, including, but not limited to application, cloud, data, endpoint, IOT, web, messaging, network, and managed security; fraud prevention/transaction security; privacy; risk assessment & management; security operations & response; threat intelligence; identity & access management; vulnerability management, cybersecurity compliance, cyber insurance, cybersecurity upskilling.

- The funder strongly encourages candidates who are Black, indigenous, people of color, women, LGBTQIA+, those with previous felony convictions, and others who identify as being from an underrepresented group to apply. All qualified applicants receive consideration without regard to any of the above characteristics or others protected by law.

Pre-Application Information
- Application Deadline: July 30th, 2023
- Program Kickoff: September 7th, 2023
- Program End: December 1st, 2023

Selection process: The selection process takes place over the course of one month. First, a diverse cross-section of the gener8tor team will carefully review the written application. If selected for a first-round interview, the applicant will be invited to a 20-minute virtual for a high-level overview of the company. About one-third of those companies will move on to the second round - also a virtual interview, but a bit longer and with more time for discussion. Final round interviews with the top 15-20 companies last for one hour and take place in person.

Number of Grants
For each cohort, gener8tor invests in five startups.

Estimated Size of Grant
Selected teams will receive a $100,000 investment in return for 7.5% equity in the applicant's company using a Simple Agreement for Future Equity (SAFE).
